Below are details of club walks taking place within the next 28 days (half-yearly programmes are available only to members).

Non-members are welcome to try out a walk or perhaps two before joining. BUT make sure your come with suitable footware, clothing and sufficient food and water for a day walk, please see the Come Prepared page

Walkers are advised to check up-to-date public transport times, and, should keep in mind that leaders are at liberty to alter walk routes when necessary due to circumstances prevailing on the day

The words AMBLE or PLUS precede some walks, indicating that they correspond with the so-named walk type descriptors given on the Our Walks page, the remainder adhere to the Moderate Walks description in style.

Please note: our walks are peer-led, not guided, and are for people with some walking experience.

NON-MEMBERS PLEASE CONTACT CLUB BY EMAIL FIRST BEFORE ATTENDING A WALK AND WHEN ATTENDING BE PREPARED TO PROVIDE FULL NAME AND CONTACT DETAILS.

With travel timetables changing frequently and buses being cancelled at short notice PLEASE check travel times yourself shortly before the walk.


Saturday 1st August 2026

AMBLE - new addition - Sheffield Moor Market (ES3) 57 bus (9.40) or same bus from Flat Street (FS2) at (9.44) to Deepcar (Stubbin Estate Community Centre) (10.20 approx.) Linear walk to Wharncliffe Side via Fox Glen, Hollin Edge Farm, Bolsterstone, Ewden Village, Morehall Reservoir and Brightholmlee - 6 miles.

PLUS – Sheffield Station Huddersfield train (9.35) to Penistone (10.19). Round walk via Cross Royd Head, Hartcliff Hill, Penistone Boundary Walk, Catshaw, Hoyland Moor, Hoylandswaine and Spring Vale – 12 miles. (50% off fare with S. Yorks. bus pass.)

Thursday 6th August 2026

Sheffield Interchange 65 bus (9.35) to Fox House (10.02). Round walk via Longshaw, White Edge, Curbar and Froggatt Edge - 8½ miles.

Saturday 8th August 2026

AMBLE – Sheffield Interchange 272 bus (9.45) to stop opposite Whirlow Brook Park entrance (10.08). Round walk via Limb Valley, Ringinglow, Porter Clough and Whirlow Farm - 5½ miles.

PLUS - Sheffield Station Manchester train (9.14) to Edale (9.46). Car drivers should allow plenty of time to park. Round walk via Grindsbrook Clough (rocky easy scrambling), Kinder Scout, Kinder Downfall, Kinder Low, Jacob’s Ladder, Upper Booth and Grindsbrook Booth – 10 miles. (Strenuous)

Thursday 13th August 2026

Sheffield Interchange (C5) X11 bus (10.00) to Rotherham District Hospital (10.24). Linear walk to Fence/Woodhouse Mill via Boston Castle, Canklow Woods, Howarth Lodge, Whiston Church, Doles Lane, Upper Whiston, Ulley Country Park, Aughton, Treeton Wood and Treeton Dyke – 8-10 miles. (Several potential break off points.)

Saturday 15th August 2026

AMBLE – Sheffield Flat Street (FS2) 57 bus (9.44) to Coal Pit Lane/Pennine View, Stocksbridge (10.32). Linear walk to Wharncliffe Side via Bolsterstone, Waldershaigh, Ewden Valley, Brightholmelee and Storth Lane – 5 miles.

PLUS - Car ramble. Meet at the layby on the B5023 Wirksworth-Duffield Road (10.00), on the left just before right turn off to Croots Farm Shop (Grid Ref. SK 330 436). Round walk via Turnditch, Blackbrook and Hazelwood – 10 miles.

EVENING RAMBLE – Sheffield Arundel Gate (AG11) 51 bus (16.47) to Lodge Moor bus terminus (17.13). Round walk via Fox Hagg, Wyming Brook and Redmires Conduit – 4 miles approx.

Thursday 20th August 2026

Sheffield Interchange (C6) X5 bus (9.30) to Roland Arms PH, Aston (9.55) approx . Linear walk to Halfway Tram terminus via Rother Valley Country Park, Norwood, Westthorpe, Chesterfield Canal and Two Bridges Greenway - 8-10 miles. (Several potential break off points.)

Saturday 22nd August 2026

AMBLE – Sheffield High Street (HS4) 52a bus (9.53) to Northfield Road, Crookes (10.05). Round walk via Bole Hills, Donkey Woods, Rivelin Valley, Coppice Road and Crosspool – 5/6 miles. (Buses back to city every 10 mins.)

PLUS - Car ramble. Meet Gradbach CP (10.00) (Grid Ref. SJ 998 662). Round walk via Danebridge, Hanging Stone, Lud’s Church, Roaches and Ramshaw Rocks – 12 ½ miles.

Thursday 27th August 2026

Sheffield Interchange 257 bus (10.00) to Cutthroat Bridge (10.28). Linear walk to Ladybower Inn via Lost Lad - 8 miles (Return bus 14.52/15.52)

Saturday 29th August 2026

AMBLE – Sheffield Interchange 257 bus (10.00) to Yorkshire Bridge (10.36). Round walk via Ladybower, Win Hill Plantation, Thornhill Carrs and Bamford Mill - 5½ miles.

PLUS – Car ramble. Meet Shepley Street, Old Glossop (10.00) (Grid Ref. SK 044 948) early arrival recommended to obtain parking. Round walk via Shelf Benches, Higher Shelf Stones, Wain Stones, Bleaklow Head, Torside Clough and Cock Hill - 10 miles. (Significant ascent, rough and boggy ground.)
